Members of a robbery gang arrested for alleged sexual abuse of a
woman and her 14 year old daughter have been identified by their
victims.
Kwabena Oppong and Kofi Owusu Ansah went into hiding
after robbing and inserting their fingers into the genitals of the
victims at Gyinyase in Kumasi, over a year ago.
Together with an
accomplice, Kelvin Adjei Frimpong, who is currently on remand, they
attacked the family of four with guns and clubs at about 3.30 a.m. After
succeeding in robbing the family of money and
personal effects,
they ordered the woman and her daughter to undress infront of them.
They then inserted their fingers into their genitals one after the other
until they got satisfied and bolted.
Police arrested them from their hide-out on Wednesday upon a tip-off
Ashanti
Regional Police Deputy Public Relations Officer, Chief Inspector Godwin
Ahianyo tells Nhyira News they were picked at separately in the KNUST
area and Asafo.
The two were identified by the victims at a parade conducted at the Regional Police headquarters.
They
confessed to taking part in the robbery but not the sexually harassment
